Visa is required for all the travellers other than Indian Passport Holders to enter Bhutan. No foreign missions or embassies abroad grant tourists visas. It has to be processed in Thimphu the capital of Bhutan.
. All passport details should be forwarded to us at least one month prior to date of travel for Visa processing.
. All though we will sent your visa clearance in advance, the actual visa will be stamped only on arrival in Bhutan.
. A valid passport is required for all nationals. Your passport validity should be minimum 6 months to travel to Bhutan.
The minimum tariff set by the Royal Government of Bhutan. Tourists visiting in a group of 3 persons or more are as follows:
High Season Tariff: USD 200 per person per night halt (January, Feburary, March, April, May, June, September, October, November, and December)
Low Season Tariff: USD 165 per person per night halt (July and August)
The minimum daily package rates shall be inclusive of the following:
a. Royalty
b. Charges for accommodations
c. Meals(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
d. Services of professional licensed guides
e. Transportation within Bhutan
f. Riding ponies and pack animals on treks
g. Necessary camping equipments on treks
h. Personal cooks and servers on treks
Individual tourists and smaller groups of less than three persons shall be subject to surcharge, over and above the minimum daily rates applicable.
Single Individual: USD 40 per night
Group of two persons: USD 30 per person per night
A sum of USD 10 per tourist per visit shall be payable towards Tourism Development Fund(TDF)
Discounts:
a. Diplomats from foreign embassies/missions accredited to Bhutan shall be given 25% discount on the daily rates.
b. There shall be no charge for the children up to the age of 5 years. However, those between the ages of 6-12 years accompanied by the elders/guardians shall be given 50% discount on the daily rates.
c. Full time students below the age of 25 years holding valid identity cards from their respective institutions shall also be given 25% discount on the daily rates.
d. A discount of 50% on the daily rates shall be given to one person in a group of 11 to 15 people.
e. 100% discount shall be given to one member in a group exceeding 16 persons.
f. A discount of 10% on the daily rates shall be provided for halts between 11 to 20 nights and 20% discount on halt beyond 21 nights.
g. Visitors availing under section a, b and c shall not be eligible for discount under e.
Tour programs booked and subsequently canceled shall be subject to cancellation charges as follows:
. more than 30 days before commencement of tour program: no charges
. within 30 days: 50% of Druk Air ticket
. within 21 days: 50% of Druk Air ticket & 10% of tour cost
. within 14 days: 50% of Druk Air ticket & 15% of tour cost
. within 7 days: 100% Druk Air ticket & 30% of tour cost
. less than 7 days or cancellation without notice: 100% Druk Air ticket & 50% of tour cost
. After arrival in Bhutan: 100% of Druk Air ticket & tour cost
All tour payments must be settled one month in advance of commencement of tour to clear the visa and other necessary formalities.
